What Does Your Watch Say About You?

Over the years, watches have become less of a tool to tell the time and more of a fashion accessory. A persons watch can reveal a lot about them, and it has done for many a century. A watch can reveal a lot about a persons style and personality, more so than any other accessory! Want to know what your watch says about you? Read on to find out!

Timex Watch

This kind of watch suggests you’re practical and no nonsense. It’s almost a fashion statement that doesn’t mean to be. You know that by saving money on a cheaper watch, you can put it towards more important things, like insurance or mortgage payments.

Sports Watch

A sports watch tells the world that you’re a competitive type. You give the impression that you could be going on a monster run, swim or bike ride at any given moment. Wearing a sports watch is perfect for the physical types who like to train mean. If you’re looking to give off a competitive “I’m a fantastic sportsman” air, don’t hesitate to wear a sports watch.

Watches With Wide Bands

These types of watches show the world that you care about style. Watches with wide bands are fashionable and cool, therefore if you wear one you’ll be considered fashionable and cool. You aren’t scared to make a statement with your watch and more than likely aren’t scared to do so in any other areas of your life either. If this is what you’d like your watch to say about you, get one with a wide band.

Leather Band Swiss Watches

This watch tells all who see it adorning your wrist that you’re the sophisticated type. It looks as if you’ve chosen to go for the “understated” look. While you could have easily chosen something much flashier, you chose to tone it down with your sleek leather band swiss watch.

Rolex Watch

A Rolex screams out “success!”. All successful business/sales people have to own a Rolex, it’s the law. The Rolex tells the world you’re good at what you do, and you are good enough at it to be able to afford expensive fashion accessories. People will gawp at your wrist in awe when wearing a Rolex, so it’s a desirable watch for anybody to own. Whatever you do, don’t even think about purchasing a fake Rolex. Fake Rolexes can be spotted by someone who knows their stuff and it will make you look like a loser. Don’t do it!

I Don’t Wear A Watch

Don’t wear a watch? You’re telling people, “I’m pretty natural. Who needs a watch to tell the time? We have mobile phones with clocks on them!” While this is true, you may also be unwillingly telling people “I’m too poor to afford any kind of watch. Even a fake Rolex”. Now that’s low…did you know you can buy watches online? I would if I were you!

Go on, use your watch to make a statement and tell the world something about yourself!

Apple iWatch: Would You Wear One?

The “Apple” brand is absolutely huge today. It’s one of the largest, most successful technology companies in the world, and offers a wide range of devices such as the iPhone, iPad, iPod, iMac and Macbook. Rumours on the web recently state that the next big invention that Apple are working on is a watch. Here we talk about the “iWatch” as Apple have named it (this has been confirmed by sources who say they are attempting to trademark the name in many countries), and suspected release date and specifications!

The Rumours

Rumour has it that these iWatches aren’t going to be your run of the mill wrist watch. But anybody could have guessed that! These watches are rumoured to be built like mini computers with full OS, wearable and sleek. Watch analysts who heard this news, stated that the computing iWatch should near half a billion unit sales a year. By the year 2018, wearing a fully computing watch is expected to be the norm all over the world.

A question many people are asking is whether or not the iWatch is likely to work in harmony with other Apple devices such as the iPhone. Some people are even speculating whether an iWatch could be used as a wearable remote control for popular devices in the home. Just a wave of the wrist and you could skip a song/change channel/turn off the lights/open the garage?!

The New York times speculated on what the actual iWatch could be made from. They stated they think the iWatch will be made from a special type of glass called Willow Glass. This type of glass is apparently similar in consistency to “a piece of paper in the wind” however, it won’t be easy to break or damage. Willow glass is known for being very thin, very strong and very flexible.

Technology websites are all in agreement that the new smartwatch will support Bluetooth, and therefore be compatible with other device such as the iPad, iPod and iPhone.

Does anybody remember those “snap bands” from days at primary school? A “snap band” was a sort of bracelet you would just hit on your wrist and it would “snap” into a curled position, secure on your wrist. Apple has recently patented this kind of technology, and it’s said that this will communicate with the watches face which will then enable you to use some of the watches features. These features include a power saving mode that is enabled much faster when in the curled position.

The size of the watch is still a total mystery, but tech websites are telling us to expect a 1.5 inch touch screen face.  It is expected that the watch will also be water proof!

Release Date

There were rumours flying around that the iWatch would be released anytime now in 2013, and some rumours stating that the end of the year would be the release. However it seems we’ll have to wait a bit longer, many websites and rumours now state that the iWatch may not be with us until the first quarter of 2014.

Will you be waiting for it?
